That
'64 Notch
I've
wanted one since I was 16 years old.
I first set eyes on this one in 2014
and missed out on it while it was for
sale. I followed it over the years till
its last owner and always kept in touch.
I attempted to purchase it a few times
and then finally I got the message saying
he needed to sell and to come and get
it! That
was early 2020 just before the first
Covid-19 lockdown. Though I couldn't
test drive it due to the brakes failing
and me recovering from ACL surgery I
still took the plunge! Once I collected
it got it tucked into the garage and
I could work on it while recovering.

All
brakes were renewed, inc brake lines,
the fuel system cleaned and hoses replaced.
The engine was serviced, floor pans
cleaned up and painted! I found a nice
set of wheels which hadn't been fitted
to a car so bought them and lowered
my Notchback. Bar that I've just cleaned
my VDub up and made it a nice place
to be inside. At the first show I took
it too it came away with a top 10 award,
which I was really chuffed about. Late
last year the bottom end decided to
start knocking on the motorway while
on route to a swap meet. So
it's currently in the garage with no
engine in it. I'm rebuilding the 1600cc
twin carb from my Fastback to go into
it, so it should be a big difference
from the original 1500cc single carb!
