Dave the Veteran Triker
First time I have ever done something like this so bear with me, here goes. I traded my motorcycle for this Trike so about all I know about the engine is it from the mid 60's to early 70's Type 1 1600 dual port, built in 2008 according to the previous owner. I can't find any numbers on the engine so I assume it has been re-cased.I replaced the stock carburetor with a Weber 32/36 DFEV progressive, installed a new 009 distributor with magnetic pickup, and converted from a generator to an alternator. Which was quite a trick with that bigger than stock Weber! The diamond plate body is basically the same as when I got it with 1" square tube frame and a 6"x2 1/2" 3/8" wall back bone, other than the seats and front end which had to go.
The racing seats came from eBay as did several other parts and the front end. The suspension is a swinger with coil overs. It has a hydraulic clutch and hydraulic disk brakes front and rear. The front end is from a 1999 Yamaha Road Star 1600. I had to change the hard head as the Trike came with a early 60's Kawasaki 250 front end, which was worn out.It took most of the Summer to get it where it is now with more mods to come. I call it the "Road Dub". It is real nimble and stable no shimmy or wobble at all up the 80mph it will do more but I chickened out. Guess being 64 years old I did learn to give things like this a little respect.
