13, 2008: Bug Out '08: General Information: The
Kitchener-Waterloo & Area Bug Club (in association
with Kitchener-Waterloo Optimist Club) is proud to
present the 27th Annual Canadian Bug Out. This is
the longest running Volkswagen show in Canada...be
sure not to miss it! We will again return to our single
day event. The show will be held on Sunday, July 13th.
Registration begins at 8:00am and runs until 12:00
noon. The show itself will run until about 4:00pm.
Once again, the show will be held at the beautiful
Kitchener-Waterloo Optimist Club in Heidelberg, Ontario,
Canada.
Fees:
General Admittance: $5.00
Show Car: $15.00 (this includes the car, a driver,
and a passenger)
Vendor: $10.00 (includes a 10’ x 12’ space)
Directions:
from Toronto - take the 401 heading West towards London
from London - take the 401 heading East towards Toronto
then:
take the highway 8 exit toward Kitchener
take the 85/7 North toward Waterloo (85 was formerly
named 86)
take the Northfield Drive exit and stay to the right
take Northfield to Weber Street and turn right onto
Weber
turn left at the first traffic light (this will be
Benjamin Road) and follow the Bug Out signs to the
K-W Optimist Club
This is the same location as the last number of years.

August 10, 2008: 5th Annual Salt City VW show: Brewerton
(10mi N of Syracuse), New York. The 5th Annual Salt
City all VW show, held in the green grass at Oneida
shores park in Brewerton New York, is growing to be
the largest VW show in Upstate Central New York. Held
on Sunday August 10th gates open at 9am. There will
be Music, Food, kids activity table, door prizes and
a 50/50 raffle.Cars will be Classed judged and awards
given out at 3pm. Oneida Shores McKinley Ridge park
was chosen, for it's beautiful setting, large grass
field, clean restrooms, easy access from a major interstate
(I-81) and proximity to camping and a public ($4/car)
beach. Directions are easy Interstate 81 exit 31 turn
LEFT onto Bartell rd. about 1 mile follow signs. Visit

August 16, 2008: Old Fort VW Club's 8th Annual Car Show
and Swap Meet: Shoaff Park 6401 St. Joe Road Fort

August 24, 2008: Harsh Winters VW Club 4th Annual
Bug-A-Palooza: This years event will be held at
our new sponsors establishment, D'Arcy VW in Joliet,
IL. Admission/registration will be $10 for each vehicle
and 2 nonperishable items for a local food pantryand
is from 9:00 - Noon. Awards will be announced at 3:00
p.m. Swap space is available for $20.00. This event
is open to ALL VW based vehicles. Air-cooled, water-cooled,
kit cars, trikes, etc. Dash plaques and goodie bags
to the first 100. Show shirts to the first 80 registrations.
Other shirts will be available for sale as TyeDye.

Our own DJ Tim Shampine will be supplying the music
for the day. There will be the Tug-a-Bug, Paint-a-bug,
Pie Eating Contest and other items. Door prizes galore.
I think everyone last year actually received a door
prize. There will be a commercial sized jumper for kids
and adults as well as a smaller jumper for the real
little ones. There will be at least 2 different food
vendors to choose from.
Currently the dealership is trying to get the VW Racing
team to send out a Race vehicle and a driver for signing.
