There's
really no famous history behind this
'73 Super Beetle. It's just one of
many well maintained and very good
mechanical Beetles. I have owned many
VW's of all different models. My first
car was VW Beetle back in 1970 and
it was my first love. The FACT that
Mr. Ulirich Hermann, the grandson
of Dr. Hermann, got to ride in one
of the Beetle prototypes and he owned
and cared for this Beetle is what
I think is very cool. It was a privilege,
in my thoughts, to purchase a VW Beetle
from a man who actually road in a
prototype of this same model. About
my 1973 Super Beetle: Everything works
great. Not show quality, but above
a daily driver. New motor, not rebuilt
with 45k miles on it, runs great.
All new urethane bushings, struts,
ball joints, disc brakes, tires, (drives
tight, it likes to cruse about 65
mph but will do 70 with ease. I rarely
drive over 55, I baby it a lot.) Rear
air shocks, electronic ignition, heavy
oil pump with spin on oil filter,
blue dot chrome head light visors,
triple chrome bumpers (I have the
originals, but they've been painted
black.), aftermarket radio/cassette
and more.
