This Baja bug started out as a 1973 Super Beetle that had been crunched in the nose. I bought a Super Beetle Baja kit from Mini Performance in Toledo Ohio for a little over 300.00, If I recall rightly. I used lacquer base and clear coat(hey, it WAS still in the 80's :) ) It had an 1835 motor with dual Kadrons with the chrome stinger exhaust. Otherwise, it was basically stock. Drove it in a couple parades and at my friends wedding. Anyone seen it lately?
